The Principal, Elayne Cree
Over the course of her professional career, Elayne Cree has worn many hats: writer, editor, consultant, account executive and strategic thinker. Although her primary skill lies in the written word, Ms. Cree is also well-versed in sales, marketing and other business disciplines. For example, when she thought it would benefit her clients to learn more about printing, she worked for a printer. When she believed it would enhance the quality of her sales copy to learn more about selling, she enrolled in sales training courses and worked as a sales representative. And when she knew it would improve client relationships to better understand marketing and speak the language of business, she enrolled in an MBA program. Describing her approach to marketing communications, Ms. Cree says, "You need to know what motivates people and influences behavior, if you want to win their hearts and minds," she says. "It also helps to know what kind of experience will engage them in the transaction you seek to make with them. Before I tackle any marketing endeavor I want to know what makes an audience tick and really get inside their heads." But she also keeps the big picture in mind with every project she undertakes, ensuring that marketing goals don't get overlooked in the process of crafting a message. |
